Zelda, a quiet librarian, who is doing online classes to obtain her master degree in library science. She is persuaded to go out on the town by one of her friend but felt uncomfortable. The club wasn't her usual scene until she saw him, the man she couldn't ignore if she wanted to. Can Zelda accept Sawyers lifestyle. Will Sawyer leave his job for Zelda?This is a well rounded story of how the opposite attraction to each other is inevitable. It was written with strong characters and the storyline was nicely done. I loved how Sawyer was determined to make the relationship work, no matter what the consequences was. A HEA ending.

At 23, Zelda Montgomery is living a safe, quiet life. Nothing safer than living in the basement of your parents house, working at the library, and earning a Master’s in Library Science in an online program. Zelda still feels guilty over that one drunken, reckless night in high school that didn’t end well, so being close to home ensures her safety and proves to her parents she’s being a responsible adult. She’s given up being wild and being a risk taker, trading it in for a dull and predictable routine. It’s not until her BFF, Carly, drags her out for a fun night at the club that she meets tattooed, hard-muscled and sinfully gorgeous Sawyer Mitchell. There’s instant eye lock from these two, but the brief encounter doesn’t go the way Zelda intends and Mr. Sexy bad boy slips through her fingers. Until the next morning they cross paths while taking a morning walk, both are surprised they live in the same neighborhood. While there’s something dangerous about Sawyer, a risk Zelda can’t afford, her body and heart can’t resist him. And Sawyer sees right through Zelda, the sexy librarian needs to loosen up a bit and he’s the man to do it.
Sawyer Mitchell left home the first chance he got when he turned eighteen. He couldn’t take the beatings anymore from his abusive, alcoholic father. So he left for the city with pent up rage and anger and chose a job to be a heavy for a drug dealer. Being an enforcer gives him the outlet for all the resentment he has for his dad. Sawyer is called back home by his aunt when he learns his father is dying of cancer. It’s been five years and he can’t muster up any forgiveness for the old man. Not until Zelda comes into his life. Being with Zelda makes him want to be better man.
I love how Ms. Wilde doesn’t rush the relationship. It blossoms with each day they spend together. The connection is electric as the author brings it to a slow boil with heated flirtation and sexual energy. Things are great between them until one date night turns into an unexpected “job” for Sawyer, and Zelda tags along. The plot takes a twist that leads Zelda to reconsider Sawyer as her man, leaving her heartbroken. Sawyer has something to prove to Zelda, he can turn over a new leaf just for her. He never knew he needed the stability, warmth and love until Zelda came into his life.
Heavy is a heartwarming, lovely romance with all the feels, and it will pull you in from the first page until the end. Zelda and Sawyer were great together. Sawyer’s romantic gesture at the airport was so sigh-worthy, it made my romance girly heart do flips. A definite feel-good ending and epilogue you won’t forget. Ms. Wilde’s writing is fluid making this story an enjoyable read. Great job, Ms. Wilde.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of Heavy. Amelia Wilde did an absolutely amazing job on this book. The story was magnificently written and the characters are wonderful and will have you rooting for them. I was hooked the minute I picked it up. This is an absolute must read so don't miss out.
Two unlike people come together and face challenges and emotions too great to be ignored. Sawyer is a collector of funds owed to his boss Domino, and Zelda is a librarian. They meet at a club where Zelda's friend Carlyle is attracted to Sawyer but he only has eyes for Zelda. Carly insists they leave and Sawyer is disappointed. They meet days later while running and they can't take their eyes off each other. I love Amelias books, she always delivers a great story.
This book started out a little slow for me at first. I was almost afraid I was going to be disappointed in the story. Boy was I glad to be wrong. This was a wonderful love story with just the right amount of heat. The characters ended up being great and the story of two people who fall in love was wonderful. I highly recommend this book. I have read everything this author has written and will continue to do so as she continues to write. Hurry up and write a new book. I'm ready!

When I started reading it I wasn't sure where it was going but I just kept reading and then I was hooked just like Sawyer was hooked when he saw Zelda in the bar. She was hooked too, I think. This story will grab you and you will just keep turning the pages to find out what is happening next like I did. I couldn't stop reading it! So 'heavy' refers to Sawyer's job, he's a heavy for a drug dealer, he runs collections and puts pressure on those who say they can't pay. When he meets good girl Zelda, his life and job aren't as cool anymore. Will he change his ways? Will Zelda leave him when she finds out what he does/did for a living? Would he even be able to quit? Will Zelda and Sawyer get an HEA?
