This was an interesting story, very different from most. The heroine, 29, has had MS for 5 years. There is a lesson involved in what a person with MS goes through just trying to live their lives. My heart goes out to them. It would so easy to give in to the despair. But, then there are guys like the hero that makes life worth living. What a great guy. It was a good love story. I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. It was entertaining, sad, and well worth reading. I definitely recommend it.

A beautifully written story that will definitely stay with me...I loved this heartwarming, thought-provoking, brilliant book. The author, Sally Mandel, is now my favorite writer! The characters portrayed are so loveable and their dialogue will make you smile and cry. Did I mention this book is brilliant...smile.
This book was beautiful, elegiac, deliberate, and filled with a gravitas that was elementally moving. Sally Mendel writes in an intimate style, with sparse clean prose that draws you in with provocative thought stripped bare while simultaneously cleverly ensuring your investment in the minds and souls of these characters. Chick lit this is not.
I knew very little about multiple sclerosis and the devastating symptoms. This story was so well written, I found myself laughing and tearing up, I could not put it down. Beautiful story line between Anna and her Joe that will have you crying and fighting for these two lovely people. I highly recommend this tender yet very witty read. Sally Mandel is a truly gifted writer.
I read the book, found it to be very interesting but it didn't captivate me and I cannot put my finger on the reason why. The story was good, the characters were real, the writing was good but for some reason I looked forward to the end of the book.
Maybe it was my headspace while reading the book.
I read this book a year after I lost my beloved aunt. She had lived with MS for years. She was one of the most intelligent and wonderful women I knew. It gave me a glimpse in to a little of the life she must have lived. We lived miles away from one another but corresponded by letters for over 40 years. We never discussed her illness much but I was impressed by how she lived her life. This book touched my heart by how Anna lived and what she accomplished and how she loved. I enjoyed this main character and those that loved her. I appreciated the fact that the book described in detail symptoms of this disease, and didn't sugar coat it in any way. This book is real to the very core. It shows courage, and strength at its very best. This story is a tribute to the brave individuals that live with MS every day, and the people that love and support them. The reader will experience laughter and tears but mainly hope. This book has helped me come to terms with my aunt and her life with MS.
I enjoyed reading Out of the Blue written by Sally Mandel. So many emotions ran thru me as I read this book. I laughed, I cried and one time I stopped reading the book because I was mad. I said if this was gonna happened I am not gonna finish. But I finally picked it up and finished reading. I was surprised at the ending. It was a good one. I don't want to put any spoilers out there so I am going to leave it like that. I loved the book. I have encouraged my friends to read it. Thanks.
I didn't know what to expect after reading the description of this book, but I am so glad I ordered it because once I began reading I could not put it down! I fell in love with Annie and her courage in the face of her illness, and we should all be so lucky to have a Joe Malone in our lives. So well written! The author makes you FEEL every emotion of the characters. I will definitely be checking out every other book from this author. Don't pass this one up! (I'm so glad I didn't!).
