LP's Gloves Off Series just keeps getting better and better. All the books in the series are stand alones but they do follow a timeline. Which basically means they go in chronological order time wise. You meet up with characters from the previous books and it allows you to know more about them. I do highly recommend reading Ryley's Revenge before reading this book because some of the events that happened in that book result in some of the events that unfold in this story.

Paxton Emerson intrigued me from the beginning and this is what I know about him. He's friends with some really nasty and shady people. These are people I would turn around and walk the other way just to avoid. Parts of his past are a real mystery to me and because of who he's friends with I was a bit worried about what I would find. For awhile now he has had a thing for Gabriella Reynolds.

After helping Gabriella and her friends out Paxton sees a way to get what he wants. In exchange for helping them out and quite literally putting his life on the line he gets one month alone with Gabriella. She'll move into his house with him and there will be no one else.

This is what I know about Gabriella Reynolds. Like Paxton and her brother, she's a MMA fighter. Even though she's tough as nails she proves in this book that she's also very intelligent. She knows when to do the smart thing and not fight. She's attracted to Paxton. He makes her feel things she's never felt before and it won't take nothing for her to hand him her heart.

Paxton made a promise to keep Gabriella safe always. Most people would wonder what a female MMA fighter would need protecting from and the answer to that question is a psychotic stalker who just happens to appear out of the woodwork. He's fascinated with Gabriella and wants her all to himself. He will go to drastic measures to make that happen and these measures are not only drastic but sick. He's one twisted individual.

If you are a fan of roller coaster rides that are full of romance, suspense, and action then I truly recommend going out and one clicking this book today. It's a phenomenal read that I was unable to put down once I started it. I loved every minute of it and I can't wait for Camden's Redemption to be released so that I can return to LP"s MMA world.

LP you did an amazeballs job as always. I definite must read for all book enthusiasts out there.

I'm going to start out by saying I absolutely loved this book. L.P. Dover has done it again!
Paxton is one sexy as hell fighter...covered in tattoos, sweat, and grease...he can rev my engine. L.P. Dover again combines her signature style writing with her standalone series that connects all her characters you've grown to love! Paxton's Promise is no different. Throwing in kick ass fight scenes-that give new meaning to bad ass chick..to scorching sex scenes...hot hot hot characters and plot twists that will have you on the edge of your seat around every bend. Bringing together Pax and Gabby who have enough Chemistry to melt the paint off a hot rod. This story shares their journey in finding love while doing what makes them happy. All while trying not to disappoint their loved ones...defeating crazed stalkers...and road blocking the underground....there is nothing these two can't do with their friends-old and new, family and love. This is a must read this winter...that will keep you warm until spring!
I received a copy to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here it is. This one picks up from Ryley's Revenge with Gabby having to pay up to Paxton for his helping Ryley and Ashleigh. She is not wanting to spend any time with him. She knows he wants her and her body wants him but her mind is fighting it. Some how Paxton lets her get away with the time they spend together be two weeks instead of four. Is that a good thing? She will not give in to him, he will have to make the first move. But Paxton is tired of chasing her, so he will let her make the first move. Both are stubborn as the day is long. She follows Paxton one night and sees a blonde hug him and she gets mad. And then Paxton sees her with another guy and he goes all caveman. Can you say jealousy is evil and will make you do things that could be good or bad. For both Gabby and Paxton it brings them together. When someone starts leaving black roses and notes for Gabby, she will do whatever she has to keep those she loves safe. But when that one person she has come to love, Paxton is threatened, she will do what it takes. There is MMA fights, more underground fights, strange neighbors and Camden being him usual self. Will Camden help Gabby or will he turn his back on her? Will she be able to protect Paxton? Can Paxton keep him promises of keeping her safe? This series just gets better and better with each story. I loved this one and can't wait for Camden's Redemption coming early 2015.

I have not read any of the previous books in this series and admittedly I feel confused and in the dark about some gongs on with the characters, main & secondary. That issue aside I still enjoyed this book very much. I liked the MCs a lot. I like that Pax (at least from this book I'm unsure of the other books) is not a man-whore! I've grown so tired of man-whores sudden,y reforming for their girl. Gabby is great too. I like that she's no shrinking violet and she herself is a MMA fighter. I've read a few MMA based romances but this is the first to have the heroine be a MMA fighter. I also liked that there was no jealous woman trying to break apart the relationship, no lame misunderstanding to keep our couple apart either! Gabby had a stalker (it's pretty easy to figure out who it was) but, and this may be a sexist double standard, I was ok with that. I much prefer the h have a stalker than the H have a jealous woman waiting to wreak havoc.

This book had just the right amount of mystery and steaminess! I'd recommend it.
